August SwapIt In: Pants — Can We Make It to 100?!

You all crushed our original goal! We hoped to bring in 50 pairs of pants this month, and we’re already at 90! Now we have a new goal: LET’S MAKE IT TO 100! You have through August 29 to bring in pants of all kinds: jeans, dress pants, leggings, joggers, and more.

Bring in pants = get invited to our special Sip & Swap!

And this one really will be special. We’re trying something brand new at this Sip & Swap, so you’re going to want an invite!

When you bring in pants, make sure to check in with a staff member and tell us how many pairs you brought so we can add you to the invite list.

You can still claim items in the Google Album!

Browse SwapIt clothes from home in our Google Photo Album! Click any photo to view the brand and size, then leave a comment to let us know which items you’re interested in and whether you’d like them held in the store or placed in the 24-hour pickup bin. We’ll contact you when your items are ready.

Shareholder Letter

To our Swap Members,

As we have said goodbye to 2025, I want to share something new with you, something I hope will become a tradition. Our first annual SwapIt Shareholder Letter!

A moment each year to reflect on our wins, our challenges, and the path forward, together.

Even though we’re not a traditional corporation, members function a lot like shareholders: you invest in this community, benefit from its growth, and you deserve to understand how SwapIt is growing, evolving, and making decisions. This letter is one way of honoring that relationship.

This year was about consistency, experimentation, and laying the groundwork for the bigger vision SwapIt has always been moving toward. Like any healthy business, we saw both progress and friction. Both have shaped where we’re headed next, and we’re excited to share that direction with you.

Consistency

Win: We operated on a more regular schedule than ever before. Including hours open and ways to swap with us.
Context: This consistency helped members plan their visits and kept the store’s energy steady week after week.
Opportunity: We know we’re still not open as consistently or as often as many swappers would like. Expanding our hours remains a priority as we grow.

Member Experience & Programming

Win: We offered more ways to swap than ever including Sort & Swap, Sip & Swap, Swap Time, the Google photo album, Item Spotlights, Style Time, and more special events.
Context: This variety gives members the chance to find what they love in the way they want to find it.
Opportunity: Not every offering is being used to its full potential. In 2026, we’ll refine our programming to focus on what brings the most joy, value, and connection.

Inventory & Member Growth

Win: We introduced a new, highly successful way to bring in better clothing and welcome new members at the same time.
Context: This approach elevated the quality of our inventory and brought fresh faces into the community.
Opportunity: These efforts are sporadic and became tied to discounts. As we refine our model, we’ll shift toward strategies that support long‑term financial health and consistent quality clothing.

Space Improvements

Win: We upgraded our lighting, refreshed the dressing rooms, and gave the store a fresh coat of paint.
Context: These changes made the space brighter, more upscale, and more aligned with the experience we want members to have.
Opportunity: There’s still more to do. The space deserves ongoing care, and we’re committed to continuing that work.

Looking Ahead: Growing Into Our Mission

As we start 2026, our focus is simple and deeply aligned with why SwapIt exists: keeping clothing out of landfills by making secondhand shopping the easiest, and most intuitive choice.

For swapping to become the default, it has to feel effortless. It has to feel fun. It has to feel worth the trip. And it has to fit into people’s real lives, their schedules, their styles, their time.

Everything we do next will be centered on that mission:

Making swapping more enjoyable by elevating the experience, the space, and the service.

Making swapping less time‑consuming by helping members find what they love faster.

Growing our capacity for services so we can be open more often, offer more support, and meet the needs of a growing community.

We’ve proven the heart of the model. We’ve built a community that believes in the power of swapping. Now it’s time to grow into the next layer of the vision. One where secondhand isn’t just a good choice, but the best choice for more people because of the way we provide our services and our space.

This next chapter is about strengthening what works, refining what doesn’t, and expanding our ability to serve this community with the consistency, creativity, and care it deserves.

Thank you for your trust, your enthusiasm, and your belief in what we’re building.

Every visit, every swap, every conversation, and every shared moment has shaped this space in ways I could never have imagined when we first opened our doors.

Our next steps are taken with a clear mission and vision that’s finally ready to grow. I’m grateful to be building this next chapter with you.

This community has been shaped by you from day one and we never want that to change. If something ever comes to mind that strengthens our mission, I’d love to hear it.

Have a swapping good day,

Stefanie
